Job Summary:

We are seeking a Resident Monitor to provide exceptional client assistance and support services at our Emergency Shelter for Women and Children. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful environment, ensuring the well-being of our residents, and upholding the mission of The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor hallways, dormitories, bathrooms, and day rooms during shifts to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
Maintain bed assignments of residents and complete batch sheets as required.
Assist clients with personal needs as requested and provide information and supplies needed for sessions.
Enforce housekeeping standards with residents and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.
Exercise discretion in enforcing rules and write up clients on rule violations as necessary.
Assist with the personal needs of clients and relay client issues and concerns to the Director/Case Manager.
Answer all incoming telephone calls and take phone messages for staff and residents.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the strictest professional standards.
Assist in the conservation of all Salvation Army resources and abide by all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
Monitor supplies and make recommendations for reorders as needed.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED certificate required; one year's experience in the human services field preferred.
Work experience in a residential setting preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to understand and interpret the mission of The Salvation Army and its shelter programs.
Moderate amount of standing, stooping, reaching, bending, and lifting required.
Ability to communicate effectively with other people.
Indoor office/shelter environment with occasional exposure to stressful situations.
