Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Services:
- Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, including registration, scheduling, and answering phone calls.
- Coordinate patient appointments and ensure accurate and timely communication with patients and healthcare providers.
- Resolve patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of patient information into our electronic medical record system.
- Billing Services:
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and follow-up on missing information.
- Review encounter forms for accuracy and completeness, and check with healthcare providers for missing information.
- Enter patient charges into our electronic medical record system according to established policies and procedures.
- Medical Record Services:
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of patient medical records.
- Release patient information from records according to corporate policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of related customer service experience preferred.
- Experience handling difficult customer interactions preferred.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems and scheduling software preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
