Job Summary

Family Health Care is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing medications, dispensing pharmaceuticals, and providing clinical expertise to patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities, and compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Dispense medications to patients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Monitor drug therapies, advising interventions as necessary to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Provide pharmacological information to healthcare professionals, counseling patients on drug therapies and developing clinical staff's pharmacological knowledge through participation in clinical programs and training.
  • Comply with state and federal drug laws, maintaining records for controlled substances and removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
  • Supervise the work results of support personnel, maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  • Manage a 340B program, becoming an expert on the 340B statute and current policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
  • Completion of an emergency contraception training course approved by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
  • Valid state pharmacist license (or must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure).
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
Qualifications
  • Analyzes information and utilizes good judgment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of FDA health regulations and pharmacology.
  • Managing processes and legal compliance.
  • Productivity, quality focus, and attention to detail.
