Job Title: AmeriCorps Member - Education and Community Empowerment

Estimated Salary: $30,000 - $40,000 per year.

The Notre Dame AmeriCorps is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as members in various positions at urban farms, inner city schools, GED programs, or non-profit organizations. As an AmeriCorps member, you will play a vital role in providing academic assistance for grades K-12 and adult education in the form of GED, ESL, job readiness, or job training.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate small group instruction with guidance from classroom teachers.
  • Work with teachers to coordinate in-class support for students around engagement and behavior.
  • Assist students in basic GED subjects.
  • Help students with college admission, financial aid, and enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate and implement ESL classes.
  • Provide assistance accessing work-related training programs, searching for jobs, and preparing application materials.
