Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team at Security Service Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing server/mainframe technical solutions that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers and product owners to identify best-in-class software solutions to complex issues.
  • Maintain new and existing software/web application programs in an SOA environment that support user and management needs.
  • Perform or lead programming efforts for application software and ensure successful implementation of application enhancements, conversions, and system installations.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, document, and support programs.
  • Collaborate with leadership and analysts to design, modify, and explain program changes or provide technical support.
  • Support production environments and resolve problems when they occur.
  • Provide Credit Union integration to vendor applications and debit and credit card processing.
  • Design the most efficient and cost-effective solution through research, analysis, and evaluation of options.
  • Work with analysts to ensure documentation of customer requirements for assigned projects and initiatives is completed.
  • Develop technical solutions collaborating with senior members of the team.
  • Develop an understanding of requirements and make recommendations for changes based on understanding of business needs and available technology.
  • Confirm program operation by performing functional tests to ensure application meets requirements and is error-free.
  • Document technical design, application functionality, and project playbook(s).
  • Participate in technical design and code reviews to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate planning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience implementing and managing software.
  • Minimum of six (6) years designing, developing, enhancing, and implementing server/mainframe technical solutions.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training as a member in the Software Development Life Cycle process.
  • Experience and proficiency with mainframe skills, languages, and concepts within the IBM z/OS environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
