We are seeking a skilled PreOp/PACU RN to join our team at PIH Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced PreOp/PACU environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient care to patients from infancy to geriatrics, demonstrating a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Implement principles of aseptic technique and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Collaborate with patients, physicians, and fellow employees to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Utilize strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing patient conditions.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
  • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing patient conditions.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and fellow employees.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation, and be receptive to change.
  • Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.
