Safety and Compliance Specialist

Safety and Compliance Responsibilities:
This role involves reviewing and evaluating work environments and project safety in collaboration with supervisory personnel.
The ideal candidate will design, modify, and coordinate safety programs and procedures to prevent injuries and diseases.
The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for enforcing adherence to health and safety laws and regulations, as well as ensuring compliance with corporate safety program standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations, as well as MP Systems policies.
- Assist with employee education on general body mechanics and ergonomic concepts.
- Collaborate with the ergonomic team to assess and promote interventions that improve job tasks.
- Promote general wellness within the company, including educational flyers and wellness events.
- Document and track safety-related incidents, accidents, and injuries, and assist with conducting investigations.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of safety records and reports.
- Provide signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential safety hazards.
- Familiarity with OSHA rules, regulations, and reporting processes.
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures in a construction environment.
- Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily.
- Assist with preparing materials and evidence for accident reports and insurance investigations.
- Assist in reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing work environments and designing safety programs.
- Partner with the Branch team to ensure sites have required safety equipment and are in good working condition.
- Perform pre-construction project reviews and site visits to ensure customer and company requirements are met.
- Develop a pre-construction safety plan addressing PPE, work practices, hazard elimination, and recognition.
- Stay up-to-date with new safety issues in the industry to implement adjustments as needed.
- Investigate injuries and accidents to determine root causes and communicate with upper management.
- Collaborate with supervisor on worker's compensation claims management.
- Coordinate and lead accident review meetings.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a health, wellness, or exercise-related field.
- Prior certification/licensure at time of employment.
- Prior internship or work experience involving safety or leadership.
- Three to five years' experience in an office environment with varied responsibilities.
- Prior experience in the electrical or construction field is preferred.
- Desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
