Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our stores, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the breakroom and all restrooms, ensuring a high level of hygiene and sanitation.
  • Sweep and damp mop all floors on a daily basis, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness.
  • Respond promptly to spills and clean up any messes throughout your shift.
  • Empty all trash inside and outside of the store, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Schedule rotation and cleaning of the dairy shelves, ensuring that our products are displayed in a clean and appealing manner.
  • Schedule cleaning of the glass dairy and frozen food doors, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Sweep the parking lot with designated equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our customers.
  • Perform minor repairs of equipment and fixtures as needed, maintaining a high level of functionality and efficiency.
  • Shovel and salt sidewalks as needed, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for our customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and established procedures, adhering to our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain company standards and programs for safety, fire prevention, and security, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.
  • Maintain productivity levels at or above company standards, meeting our high expectations for performance and efficiency.
  • Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain good communication with the management team and associates, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring that our customers receive a high level of satisfaction and service.
  • Communicate any needed repairs and/or maintenance work needed, ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Maintain a quality of performance of all specific duties and responsibilities assigned, meeting our high expectations for quality and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements.
  • Flexible schedule needed, with the ability to work a variety of shifts and schedules.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/walk 100% of the time, with frequent reaching and lifting of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting, with the ability to handle a variety of cleaning materials and substances.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. approximately 50% of the time, with the ability to push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.

  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the internal and external store and property, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.
  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the equipment used in the performance of this job function, ensuring a high level of functionality and efficiency.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $21.80 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
