Job Opportunity

The Institute for Justice is seeking a highly skilled Major Giving Operations Manager to join our fundraising team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in cultivating and maintaining relationships with our highest dollar donors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute high-dollar donor solicitations, ensuring timely and effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to introduce prospective donors to the Institute for Justice, leveraging your creativity and persistence to drive results.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the President to meet with current and prospective donors, ensuring seamless execution of these critical meetings.
  • Enter and acknowledge high-dollar donations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely recognition of donor contributions.
  • Take the lead on VIP prospecting, developing cultivation strategies for individual prospects and driving the general outreach plan for prospects as a whole.
  • Manage bi-annual internal meetings to discuss existing VIP donors, ensuring alignment and effective communication among team members.
  • Execute action plans as determined by the team during prospect review and other meetings, driving results and advancing the Institute's fundraising goals.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of fundraising, office administration, or operations experience, with a proven track record of success in donor engagement and relationship management.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions and identify potential improvements to processes.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines, with a focus on producing results and driving forward the Institute's fundraising goals.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM program a plus, but not required.
  • Command of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Must be willing to make phone calls and engage in regular communication with donors and stakeholders.
