Job Summary

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor II-Training to join our team at the PSU Counseling Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide individual and group psychological counseling, crisis response, and consultation services to students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing a range of mental health concerns.
  • Offer consultation services to faculty and staff on psychological issues affecting student mental health.
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 support for students in crisis.
  • Collaborate with the Director and other staff members to develop and implement training programs for the Counseling Center.
  • Supervise practicum and internship students, providing guidance and support as they work towards their graduate degrees.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community providers to ensure seamless referrals and support for students.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Two years of full-time licensed counseling experience in a mental health agency or counseling center.
  • NH License or license eligibility as a mental health professional.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialization in areas such as LADC, Disordered Eating Specialist, or EMDR.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with Titanium, CCAPS, and time management software.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion.
  • Recent and relevant clinical experience working with students, particularly those from diverse backgrounds.
