We are seeking a highly skilled Sleep Technologist to join our team at St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon. As a key member of our Sleep Medicine department, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
Job SummaryThe Sleep Technologist will work under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to collect, analyze, and score patient information, identify patient-specific needs, and provide direct patient education. This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities- Collects, analyzes, scores, and integrates patient information to identify patient-specific needs
- Performs sleep study data acquisition for pediatric and adult PSGs according to ordering provider
- Determines final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols
- Reviews patient history and verifies medical orders
- Follows sleep center protocols related to sleep studies
- Prepares bedrooms to accommodate patient needs and comfort
- Verifies patient identification, collects documents, and obtains consent for studies
- Selects appropriate equipment, calibrates for testing, and adjusts as necessary
- Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards
- Performs routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization/acclimation
- Responsible for patient care during overnight testing procedures
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED
- A degree in polysomnography or a related field (preferred)
- Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH) or RPSGT, RST, or Respiratory Therapist with SDS certification
- Licensed by the state of Oregon through the Polysomnographic Technologist Licensing Board
- Current BLS certification
- Two years of patient care experience as a sleep technician/technologist (preferred)
This is a full-time position with an estimated salary range of $33,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
