About the Role

In the heart of Michigan, the State Department of Treasury is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Supervisor Lead to join their Individual Income Tax Division. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to lead a team of approximately seven employees in processing individual income tax returns and farmland preservation tax credits.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative support office practices, including at least two years of experience equivalent to an E7-level administrative support worker. As a leader, you will be responsible for assigning work to staff, setting priorities, directing work, and encouraging employee ideas.

About the Team

The Individual Income Tax Division is one of four divisions within the Tax Administration Services Bureau and has approximately 120 employees. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of professionals who are passionate about serving the citizens of Michigan.

The division is responsible for determining the accuracy of individual income tax returns and farmland preservation tax credits, as well as communicating with taxpayers, tax professionals, legislators, and management to facilitate understanding of specific tax accounts.

About the Location

The position is based in Dimondale, Michigan, and requires occasional onsite work. However, the state offers remote work options, and employees are eligible to work from home up to five days per week.
