Certified Sterile Processing Specialist

The Sterile Processing Technician - Certified role at University Hospitals is responsible for receiving, sorting, decontaminating, reassembling, packaging, sterilizing, storing and distributing reusable patient care equipment, instrument trays and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform decontamination procedures to ensure equipment is safe for use.
- Prepare reusable patient care items for sterilization, including cleaning and assembling equipment.
- Sterilize equipment using appropriate methods, including autoclaving and dry heat sterilization.
- Pick and store surgical case carts, and distribute reusable patient care equipment, instrument trays and supplies as needed.
- Participate as a productive member of the O.R. processing team, maintaining positive relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.
Requirements:
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Comply with all policies and standards, including those related to patient confidentiality and data security.
- Participate in annual training and adhere to the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures.
