At Skanska, we are committed to driving sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Strategist to join our team.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

As an Environmental Sustainability Strategist, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of sustainable practices across our projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with project teams to pursue LEED, WELL, Envision, and Living Building Challenge certifications;
  • Providing expertise on credit interpretation and feasibility during project planning;
  • Maintaining tracking and documentation tools and strategies for credits;
  • Supporting sustainable business strategy with cost, technical, and advocacy assistance;
  • Benchmarking carbon emissions on projects;
  • Creating and maintaining forms, templates, and procedures for green building certifications;
  • Tracking projects' green performance for internal corporate reporting.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of sustainability, building science, integrated design, and LEED, WELL, and LBC rating systems;
  • Green building understanding, including energy efficiency, water efficiency, material toxicity, and sourcing;
  • Carbon accounting, including embodied carbon and business unit GHG inventory;
  • Experience in at least one of the following four green building certification programs: LEED, WELL, Envision, and Living Building Challenge;
  • 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting, construction, architecture, and/or engineering;
  • Experience in developing and delivering training, including forms, templates, and PowerPoint presentations;
  • Experience with sustainability KPI data gathering, goal-setting, and facilitation.
