Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at Grady Health System. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CT scanners to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their safety.
  • Administer contrast media as needed and start IVs when required.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self, according to prescribed safety standards.
  • Restock and maintain assigned workstations/equipment in an orderly fashion.
  • Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures, and administer first aid/CPR as needed.
  • Retrieve and load images and resolve "exceptions" in the PACS system.
  • Track images to "end procedure" in EPIC (Electronic Health Records) and assure that all images are archived at the end of each shift.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree from an approved ARRT institution with an accredited Computed Tomography (CT) program.
  • ARRT-CT certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) no more than 6 months post-hire (if applicable).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
