Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bus Mechanic to join our team at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses and other district vehicles, ensuring they are in good working order and safe for operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Possess a Class B commercial driver's license with a school bus endorsement
Be mechanically inclined and able to disassemble and rebuild gasoline and diesel equipment
Possess welding skills and be able to test and repair air and hydraulic brake systems
Perform preventative maintenance on all district vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, grease jobs, and part replacement
Maintain necessary and appropriate files and develop effective working relationships with associates and the public
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent or technical training and experience
Excellent observation and communication skills
Ability to perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting, when working with students
Working Conditions:
Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue
Frequent evening and/or weekend work
