The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides direct patient services with an emphasis on prevention and education, in collaboration with staff physicians and the clinical team of providers and allied health professionals.

As a community health center, we provide care for everyone who walks through our doors, regardless of their immigration or citizenship status, national origin, religion, race, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Recommend or implement diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy.
  • Perform routine or annual physical examinations and primary care procedures such as suturing, splinting, administering immunizations, taking cultures, and debriding wounds.
  • Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost, and counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions.
  • Educate and engage patients in self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances.
  • Maintain timely, complete and detailed records of patients' personal health information in the electronic medical records system and keep such information confidential.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing with a master's degree in nursing.
  • Current registered nurse licensure and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure and certification.
  • Clinical training and experience in ambulatory care.
  • Basic life support certification.
