We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Medicine Specialty Unit at OU Health. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in both step-down and medical bed care, working with a diverse range of patients and complex disease processes.
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and making informed decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Assume responsibility for assigned patients, providing individualized care and monitoring their progress.
- Document patient responses to interventions and prescribed treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians to examine patients and perform minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing patient responses and intervening as necessary.
- Administer medication and manage intravenous infusions and blood products according to established protocols.
- Deliver patient care competently, adhering to evidence-based practices and policies.
- Interact with patients and families, sharing care plans and providing education on hospital procedures and discharge instructions.
- Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- ACLS certification within 1 year if working in the step-down unit.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- One year of RN experience in a similar setting.
The estimated salary for this role is $75,000 per year, based on national averages for registered nurses in Oklahoma.
