Bon Secours Mercy Health is a healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality care to our patients. We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team.
Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated health care professional. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care, including vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assists with mobility
- Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns
- Provide high-level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors, and employees
- Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving
Requirements
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred)
- Successful completion of nursing aide training program or equivalent experience
- Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long term care facility (preferred)
