Job Title: Speech and Language Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Specialist to join our team at Wayne Township Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the development of communication, language, oral motor, and auditory skills in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a Child Study Team member to assess and develop individualized therapy programs for students with communication disorders.
  • Conduct Speech Evaluations and design therapy programs to meet the needs of students.
  • Collaborate with staff to promote Speech and Language development in the classroom.
  • Function as case manager for students eligible for Speech services only.
  • Attend IEP meetings and provide progress reports to parents and staff.

Requirements:

  • New Jersey License in Speech/Language Pathology
  • New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate as a Speech/Language Specialist

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses
  • Occasional exposure to a variety of weather conditions
  • Exposure to heated/air conditioned and ventilated facilities

Salary and Benefits: Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education. This position is part of the Wayne Education Association.
