As an experienced Research Scientist in Therapeutic Engineering, you will play a key role in advancing our pipeline of novel I-O molecules.
Job OverviewWe are seeking an accomplished professional with expertise in antibody discovery platforms, display technologies, and molecular biology techniques. Your hands-on experience in phage and/or mammalian/yeast display technologies will enable you to develop high-impact strategies for selection and screening of antibodies, proteins, and peptides. This is a dynamic position that offers the opportunity to shape the future trajectory of our company.
About the Role- Develop and implement strategies for selecting and screening monoclonal antibodies, protein domains, and peptides using display technologies from synthetic libraries.
- Design and optimize methods for lifting immune repertoires from immunized animals to create diverse immune libraries.
- Create libraries for therapeutic optimizations, such as affinity maturation, potency, and stability enhancements of antibodies, proteins, and peptides.
- Conduct in vitro discovery campaigns utilizing phage display technology.
- Lead campaigns involving display and single B-cell platforms for mAb and peptide discovery.
- Develop strategies to amplify and clone antibody variable regions, protein domains, or peptides from display libraries into final therapeutic formats.
- Manage collaborations with external partners, including contract research organizations (CROs), and build workplans for synthetic library generation and animal immunizations.
- Leverage your leadership skills to co-lead core discovery teams and represent Protein Engineering at project team meetings.
- Maintain laboratory stocks and reagents, mentor junior staff, and maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks.
- A PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Structural Biology, or related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in antibody discovery teams within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, or 4-7 years with a Master's degree.
- Firsthand experience in mAb discovery platforms, such as display and single B-cell technologies.
- Experience with prokaryotic or eukaryotic display technologies.
- Expertise in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, cloning, primer design, plasmid preparation, and cell culture handling.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $130,000-$160,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
