About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate educator to join our team as a High School ELA Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language Arts to high school students, developing engaging lesson plans, and creating a supportive learning environment that fosters academic growth and social-emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language Arts to high school students, using a robust literature curriculum that prioritizes inclusive texts and prepares students for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate level coursework.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to succeed.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
- Analyze student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs, using data-driven approaches to inform teaching practices.
- Prioritize student-led discourse, teaching students to use evidence to make sophisticated claims and synthesize arguments.
What We Offer

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a focus on Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Experience working with urban schools and communities, preferably in a teaching or educational leadership role.
- A strong commitment to social-emotional learning and supporting students' academic and personal growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
