Medical Director, Bipolar Disorder Program

The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a Physician Assistant to join the interdisciplinary team at the Bipolar Disorder Center. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Estimated Salary: $123,000+ per year based on qualifications and experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement comprehensive assessment and treatment plans for complex adult and transition age youth with bipolar disorder
- Provide psychiatric care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients and family members
- Work closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care
- Conduct clinical trials investigating new psychiatric treatments and other research projects
- Prepare documentation for medical records, including updating patient medical charts
- Act as consultant/collaborator to the clinical team on area of specialty
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Texas
- Active board certification as a NP
- DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
- CPR certification and advanced life support certifications, if relevant to practice area
- Master's or Doctorate's degree from an accredited Nursing program
- At least one year of experience in the inpatient and outpatient care of bipolar disorder and related disorders
