Job Summary:

As a Counselor II at Bryan Health, you will play a vital role in supervising students, interns, and counseling staff seeking licensure. Your expertise will be utilized to provide counseling services requiring specific competencies and/or credentials for reimbursement authorization. You will implement assessments, treatment plans, and discharge plans for all clients assigned to your caseload. Additionally, you will actively communicate with referral sources to secure ongoing services for clients preparing to discharge from current levels of care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. *Commit to the mission, vision, and core values of Bryan Health, consistently demonstrating our values in daily work.
2. *Participate in quality assurance activities and file audits to ensure compliance with standards, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and paperwork standards.
3. *Act as a mentor to new staff and non-clinical staff members, providing education, feedback, and direction.
4. *Participate in Independence Center teams and committees, such as the Forms Committee, SDAC, and Practice Committee.
5. *Assume a client caseload representative of complexity and area of designated expertise.
6. *Exhibit skills in all levels of the continuum of substance abuse treatment, including inpatient care, residential care, intensive outpatient, continuing care, and individual sessions.
7. *Clinically supervise practicum students, interns, and counseling staff seeking credentialing as assigned.
8. *Establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with clients and/or families and significant others experiencing complex substance abuse problems.
9. *Utilize skills in individual, family, and group settings as they apply to primary substance abuse issues.
10. *Conduct chemical dependency assessments and evaluations, including a complete psychosocial assessment.
11. *Ensure completeness and timeliness in clinical record keeping, including orientation, assessments, progress notes, treatment plan updates, staffing reviews, and discharge plans.

Requirements:

Master's Degree in Counseling or Behavioral Health field required.
Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner required.
Provisional Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor preferred.
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Working Conditions:

This position is characterized as sedentary work requiring exertion up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
