Job Summary:

The National Guard Employment Network is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Engineer Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance of our gas transmission pipeline systems to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in the interpretation of Federal and State pipeline safety regulations and industry codes.
  • Support Operations and other groups through preparation and participation in US regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Implement processes for establishing and documenting the maximum allowable operating pressure for U.S. gas pipelines.
  • Prepare various regulatory filings and correspondence, including comments to proposed regulations, responses to inquiries and enforcement actions.
  • Provide support and response for pipeline safety incidents, including determining if an event must be reported, making the report and responding to information request from regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the natural gas or hazardous liquid pipeline industry with compliance background.
  • Expertise in the DOT natural gas pipeline safety regulations, state Pipeline Safety Regulations where Enbridge operates pipelines, ASME B31.
  • Excellent computer and analytical problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to defend a position on regulatory issues despite pushback from others.
  • Proven conceptual, relationship building, organizational, risk analysis, negotiations and decision-making skills.
