Electronic Health Records Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electronic Health Records (EHR) Manager to oversee the assessment, selection, and implementation of healthcare systems for our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in EHR/EMR management, clinical workflow analysis, and system configuration.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact for all EHR-related projects
- Travel to sites during initial phases of EHR implementations and support all teams as necessary
- Serve as the primary EHR subject matter expert and strategic advisor to senior clinical and operational leadership
- Maintain deep knowledge of legal and regulatory factors impacting electronic health records
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and optimization of EHR systems across a multi-site healthcare network
- Collaborate with clinical stakeholders to analyze workflows, identify pain points, and develop innovative solutions leveraging EHR capabilities
- Spearhead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of EHR customizations, upgrades, and new functionalities
- Customize forms, templates, and workflows using EHR-specific coding and programming
- Manage vendor performance, oversee project deliverables, and ensure alignment with organizational needs
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-stakeholder informatics projects
- Expertise in project planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and delivering on-time, on-budget
- Establish governance frameworks and lead change management processes to ensure seamless EHR operations
- Lead cross-functional teams in identifying opportunities for automation and optimization
- Driving data analytics initiatives to generate insights that inform clinical decision-making and operational efficiency
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by championing user training and supporting effective EHR utilization
- Stay abreast of emerging healthcare IT trends and technologies, and align the organization's EHR strategy accordingly
Requirements
- Active nursing license (Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred), or Bachelors in Health Information Systems or other healthcare-related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in EHR/EMR management, ideally across multiple healthcare settings
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical workflow analysis, system configuration, and user training
- Strong project management, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and the use of EHR business intelligence tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with clinical, IT, and operational teams
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to support client implementations and optimization efforts
