Medical Laboratory Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at K.A. Recruiting. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will perform a variety of technical and general duties at a basic skills and knowledge level.
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Team Leader or Division Manager, you will function in one or more laboratory division, performing routine and/or specialized testing and procedures with supervision as appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform quality control and instrument check procedures and maintain related records.
- Inoculate, cultivate, classify, and identify microorganisms found in bodily fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, autopsy, and surgical specimens to provide data on cause, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases.
- Group or type blood of donors and recipients, and determine compatibility of donor blood products with intended recipients.
- Perform chemical and/or immunological tests to identify and/or quantitate substances found in blood and other body fluids.
- Count, describe morphology of, and perform specialized studies on blood and other body fluid cells, and perform coagulation testing.
- Cut, stain, and mount specimens of human tissue, and perform special stains and/or immunohistochemical testing on tissues as directed by the pathologist(s).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related science.
- Certified as a Medical Technologist or equivalent. License if required.
- Completion of student clinical rotations.
