**Job Title:** Transportation Services Coordinator

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Transportation Services Coordinator in Hopewell, VA.

Salary: $13.50 per hour

About the Job:

As a Transportation Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing transportation services to passengers served by our department. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet passengers and assist them entering and exiting the van, as well as with luggage or packages.
  • Transport passengers to their requested destinations within local and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct vehicle pre-maintenance inspections prior to usage and conduct safety and security checks at the end of the day.
  • Keep records of pickups and drop-offs.
  • Regularly clean and maintain the vehicle.
  • Monitor passengers and enforce rules to ensure their safety.
  • Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimal related experience (less than 6 months) working with senior citizens preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid VA driver's license required.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of senior citizens' and adults with special needs, preferred.
  • Knowledge of vehicle, radio communication system, and laws and regulations governing van operation.
  • Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill in operating van and making minor repairs.

Work Environment:

  • The worker is exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme noise, odors, heights, and/or dust.

Essential Physical Activities:

  • Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception.
  • Typical weight handled: up to 50 pounds.
