We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at Revere Consulting Company, Inc. in Olympia Fields, Illinois.

Job Summary

This is a 9-month position, starting from the school year and ending on May 23rd, 2025. The successful candidate will work with English Language Learner (ELL) students, parents, and staff to prevent, identify, evaluate, and remediate various oral communication problems, including articulation, voice, fluency, and language disorders.

The ideal candidate will have near-fluent verbal and written Spanish and English skills, as well as bicultural awareness of both Spanish-speaking countries and mainstream English-speaking communities. They will also possess an understanding of second-language acquisition, its impact on native languages, and differentiating between speech and language differences vs. disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Prevention: Consultation, in-service training, speaking with parents and parent groups, and other preventive measures to address oral communication problems.
  • Identification: Pre-referral support teams, bilingual screenings, referrals for evaluation, and data collection in both Spanish and English.
  • Assessment: Interpretation, report writing in English, sharing results with parents and staff, determining eligibility for services, and developing ELL speech and language IEPs.
  • Intervention: Caseload management, direct remediation, pull-out services, consulting on academic and social issues, developing ongoing goals, documenting progress, and collaborating with teachers and other personnel.
  • Caseload records for special education funding, managing/maintaining student IEPs and evaluations on web-based computer programs, and other duties assigned by supervisors or administration.
Requirements
  • Illinois Certificate with Speech and Language Pathology endorsement (Type 73 or Type 10 or Type 03/09).
  • Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Speech Language Pathologist License.
  • Near-fluent verbal and written Spanish and English skills, bicultural awareness, and understanding of second-language acquisition.
