Spiritual Care Specialist

Job Summary
VITAS Healthcare is seeking a qualified Chaplain to join our interdisciplinary team. As a Chaplain, you will provide spiritual care interventions to patients, families, caregivers, and staff, including pastoral counseling and spiritual assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral care interventions, including pastoral counseling and spiritual assessment.
- Develop and implement spiritual care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and staff on spiritual care and end-of-life issues.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
Requirements
- Ordination or Commission to function in a ministry of pastoral care.
- Endorsement of and good standing with a body of faith.
- A minimum of 1 unit (400 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education.
- Evidence of clinical pastoral educational experience, including supervision of ministry, peer group participation, and theological reflection.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Master's of Divinity or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited (ATS) seminary or theological school.
