Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Automotive Business Development Consultant to join our team at MSX International. This role will be based in South Philadelphia, PA and will provide an excellent opportunity for growth and professional development.

About the Role:

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the activity of Field Service Development Managers in each assigned region. You will work closely with dealership management teams to implement service strategies that drive business growth, increase profitability, customer satisfaction, and retention.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and train dealers on service lane processes to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Become a center of expertise with OnStar and service lane tools such as Service Workbench (SWB), Online Service Scheduling (OSS), and other industry-leading technologies.
  • Work cooperatively with decision-makers at all levels of dealership management to achieve key objectives, including service lane processes, OnStar activations, customer retention, and dealer profitability.
  • Provide face-to-face sales and technical training to dealerships to improve their service capabilities and customer experience.
  • Assist dealers with OnStar reactivations within the service lane and help them improve LOF/MPVI cycle times to under 60 minutes.
  • Meet defined metric goals for assigned dealers within a set geographic area and track progress while qualifying and evaluating new dealerships for service strategy implementation.
  • Ensure dealer processes are in place to gather local competitive data and ensure proper Business Development Center (BDC) service department integration.
  • Interface with District Sales, Service, Parts, and Zone management to ensure cross-communication of dealer process changes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Share best practices, ideas, success stories, and analysis techniques via the SDM forum to drive continuous improvement.
  • Travel as necessary, including overnights, and attend regional and national training events to stay up-to-date with industry trends and company initiatives.
  • Utilize and maintain company-provided vehicles for business purposes.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in the automotive industry, preferably in sales or service roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of OnStar and OEM connected vehicle technologies is preferred but not required.
  • Sales experience, selling products and services, would be valuable in this role.
