About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at Ascension Health in Chicago, IL. This is a part-time position requiring 24 hours of work per week, primarily night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

Role Summary

This role involves providing direct patient care and support to patients with behavioral health needs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
  • Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention credentialed from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
