We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimating Director to lead our estimating team at William Charles Construction. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the firm's estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, estimating software, and implementing best practices. They will also oversee daily estimating functions, ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments, and develop best practices for estimating activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the firm's estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, estimating software, and implementing best practices.
  • Oversee daily estimating functions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Develop best practices for estimating activities, ensuring timely and accurate submittals.
  • Collaborate with the Preconstruction Manager to achieve department objectives.
  • Act as Hiring Manager for the department, evaluating department needs, producing requisitions for new staffing resources, and conducting interviews with candidates.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven high-level construction estimating experience, along with leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Proven management experience, a history of leading, teaching, developing, and mentoring others successfully.
  • Solid presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with the industry's leading estimating software.
  • Ability to independently produce conceptual estimates.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $160,000-$180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
