Event Coordinator Job Summary
We are seeking an Event Coordinator to join our team at Marriott. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with Sales, property departments, and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases of property events.
This position primarily handles less complex property events. You will work with your supervisor to ensure seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets customers during the event phase and hands off to Event Operations for the execution of details.
- Acts as the liaison between field sales and customers throughout the event process (pre-event, event, and post-event).
- Ensures hourly associates understand expectations and parameters for event activities.
- Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with clients prior to processing the final bill.
- Participates in customer meetings for assigned groups with guidance from your supervisor.
- Manages group room blocks and meeting space of small assigned groups.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; minimal experience in event management or a related professional area.
- Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major; no work experience required.
