Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mold Technician to join our team at Rehrig Pacific Company. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, tooling changeovers, and mold repairs on injection molds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform weekly and monthly Preventive Maintenance procedures to ensure all molds are maintained to company standards.
  • Perform in-press mold Preventative Maintenance per schedule.
  • Repair injection molds to ensure maximum potential, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic tool and die repair.
  • Troubleshoot issues, both in and out of the press, and determine root cause.
  • Maintain molding surfaces to proper surface finish to ensure proper part release.
  • Read blueprints to machine individual mold components as needed.
  • Setup of CNC mills, standard mills, and lathes to machine mold components.
  • Disassemble molds and hot runners for periodic maintenance and repairs.
  • Teach new skills to other members of the department/plant.
  • Perform work by following all safety and quality standards.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in injection molding.
  • Proficient in repairs of hot runner systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in the use of lathe, mill, CNC, cranes, and rigging.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic machining skills.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Familiar with hot runner systems, especially valve gate systems.
  • Experience with large molds, 40,000 to 90,000 lbs.
  • Familiar with stack molds.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring required for proximity sensors and limit switches.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic functions.
  • Basic knowledge of mold building materials, surface finishes, tolerances, and design principals.
  • Ability to function well within a team setting.
