We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our dynamic team at Danbury Health Systems. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support under the guidance of experienced healthcare professionals.

Job Summary:

As a Patient Care Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting patients with daily activities, offering emotional support, and performing various clinical procedures under the supervision of licensed nurses. Your compassion, empathy, and excellent communication skills will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with morning and evening care routines, including bed baths, showers, and personal hygiene tasks.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients during times of need.
  • Assist patients with positioning, lifting, turning, and using specialized equipment to enhance their mobility and comfort.
  • Prepare and serve meals, catering to patients' dietary needs and preferences.
  • Rapidly respond to patients' call lights and conduct regular rounds to ensure their needs are met.

Requirements:

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • BLS certification is required by the end of your orientation class.
  • At least 1 year of direct patient care experience is preferred, demonstrating your ability to thrive in this per diem opportunity.

Benefits:

Danbury Health Systems offers a competitive compensation package, ranging from $$22.50 to $31.75 per hour, before considering appealing shift differentials. This includes comprehensive benefits, opportunities for growth and development, and a supportive work environment that values your well-being and contributions.

Working Conditions:

This role requires manual dexterity, occupational risk, and heavy physical effort, involving exerting up to 50 pounds of force. You will also be exposed to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste on a regular basis.
