Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Correctional Care Specialist to provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients. This role requires knowledge and skills to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document the daily care of assigned patients.
  • Identify patients' care needs, formulate appropriate nursing diagnoses, develop and individualize care plans, and revise plans of care as needed.
  • Execute physician's orders for all assigned patients, administer medications and treatments, and deliver culturally congruent and specialty-appropriate competent nursing care in accordance with UTMB, TDCJ, and/or TJJD policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures/skills in assigned specialty area.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with two years of clinical RN experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
  • Current BLS-HP required.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $82,000-$110,000 based on location and experience. This is a non-benefit eligible position limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week.
