Position Information:
We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at WakeMed Physician Practices.
As a member of our team, you will work under the general supervision of your Medical Director and other physician partners to deliver high-quality medical care to patients at WakeMed.
This role will involve a combination of inpatient and outpatient care, depending on the needs of the service, and will require you to work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach.
You will be responsible for completing referrals, consults, daily patient rounds, daily notes, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post-procedure care, prescribing, and patient care follow-ups.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with PA/NP/CNM/DO students from healthcare education programs, serving as an educator and mentor.
You will maintain the scope of practice consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board and any other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as the policies and procedures of WakeMed.
You may be required to obtain additional certifications, such as Advanced Life Support, depending on the clinical area of practice, which will be outlined in the clinical job expectations and reviewed annually during the annual review process.
As a healthcare professional, you will understand the needs of the organization and support the mission, values, and management of WakeMed.
Experience Requirements:
1 year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies is required, and a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing is required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is required, and Basic Life Support certification is required within 6 months of hire.
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week.
Weekend Requirements:
As needed.
