Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Plumber III to join our team at UofL Health-South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY.

About the Job

This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining all plumbing, piping, steam systems and equipment. These life support systems or essential utilities include medical gases/vacuum, sewage systems, domestic water supply, domestic hot and cold-water generation, distribution of steam and condensation systems, and maintenance of heating hot and chilled water.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor/Lead Mechanic, provide a safe campus by installing, repairing, and/or maintaining fixtures and equipment such as urinals, toilets, sinks, drinking fountains, and faucets.
  • Clear pipe stoppages utilizing drain cleaning equipment and replace copper, cast, and PVC piping.
  • Inspect and maintain all existing plumbing and hydronic systems.
  • Perform inspections of all plumbing systems and equipment according to established procedures, federal and state regulations, and codes.
  • Read and understand blueprints and sketches.
  • Braze, solder, and use plumbing tools.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
  • Plumber apprenticeship or 2-year degree preferred.
  • 5+ years commercial/industrial Plumber experience required.
  • 10+ years commercial/industrial Plumber experience preferred.
  • Current Valid Driver's License must be maintained.
  • Plumber Journeyman certification preferred.
  • Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers KSHE Safe Day One certification preferred.
  • Med Gas certification preferred.
  • Backflow Prevention certification preferred.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

This salary range is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and experience.
