Job Overview

The Special Olympics New York, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Program Development Manager to support the development and implementation of sports training programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Western Region.

As a key member of the program team, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships with schools, athletes, families, coaches, and community stakeholders to promote sports training and competition opportunities.

This role requires a strong understanding of the organization's mission, values, and goals, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement sports training programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, including Unified Sports and Unified Champion Schools initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Cultivate relationships with schools, athletes, families, coaches, and community stakeholders to promote sports training and competition opportunities.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with volunteers, professionals, and business people from various socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Project Management: Manage day-to-day programming tasks while continuously building capacity and maintaining program and team quality.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Sports Administration, Business Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management, Recreation, or Special Education.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience working or volunteering in the field of developmental disabilities.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage multiple moving parts with thorough and consistent follow-up.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $58,500 - $65,000, commensurate with experience, plus benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
