Safety Supervisor

Wright Tree Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and customers. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensures compliance with Wright Tree Service and OSHA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Identifies potential safety issues and recommends corrective actions as appropriate with follow-up verification.
• Maintains accurate records of safety trainings, certifications, licenses, and other relevant information.
• Conducts safety training of assigned personnel in accordance with good safety training procedures.
• Investigates accident reports, damage claims, and may be a designated representative to settle minor damage or injury claims.
• Stays up-to-date with new equipment specifications, standard practices, and operating procedures.
• Determines action to be taken in emergency situations to eliminate hazards to lives and property.
• Works around hazardous equipment and in close proximity to energized power lines.
• Works in a variety of weather conditions and may be exposed to nature, irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews or equivalent experience.
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
• Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboricultural techniques.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and guidelines.
• Experience with computers, focusing on Microsoft Office products.
• Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to read and understand circuit maps.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays, weekends, and storm work.
• Valid driver's license (CDL), medical card, and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Maintains a herbicide applicator or operator's certification and license as required by Wright Tree Service and local, state, and federal law.
• Valid First-Aid and CPR cards.
