Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our team at ClarkDietrich Engineering Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and a formal education in building design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and accurately interpret drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to provide exceptional customer service and ensure project success.
  • Design and develop cold-formed steel structures, including curtain and load-bearing wall, lateral bracing, and truss designs.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete engineering tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and submit project drawings and calculations to clients for review and approval.
  • Perform structural calculations using analysis programs or manual methods as necessary.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong understanding of structural building components and framing installation methods.
  • Proficiency in performing structural calculations and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A Professional Engineering certification or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience working with BIM software.
  • A strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
