Job Summary

As a LPN-Expanded II, you will provide patient care as directed by the professional registered nurse and be accountable for your own actions under this direction. You will administer intravenous therapy according to state board of nursing rules, regulations, and position statements. You will provide a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing and delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and collaborate with professional registered nurses
  • Collect patient data
  • Assist in planning patient care
  • Assist in implementing patient care as directed
  • Assist with evaluating the plan of care
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Administer intravenous medications according to State Board of Nursing rules and regulations
  • Perform intravenous therapy according to State Board of Nursing rules and regulations
  • Provide and reinforce the teaching of individuals and groups of patients
  • Participate in activities designed to improve health care delivery
  • Participate in ongoing educational activities
  • Complete assigned goals
Requirements, Preferences, and Experience
  • Education: Minimum AR - meets minimum IV therapy training requirements according to BON. TN - 6 months experience required and successful completion of intravenous therapy training according to BON. MS - successful completion of education and training provided by an IV integrated accredited nursing program or Board approved IV therapy course
  • Licensure, Registration, Certification: Minimum BLS certification within 14 days of hire; LPN
  • Special Skills: Computer literacy
