Job Summary

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our team. As a key member of our dental team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing a wide range of dental procedures, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of professional dental procedures, including dentoalveolar surgery, complex dental extractions, and treatment of orofacial infections.
  • Diagnose and treat orofacial trauma, pre-prosthetic surgery, and placement of dental implants.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures consistent with the practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including surgical treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathosis.
  • Manage medically complex patients, including inpatients, and perform a history and physical.
  • Work collaboratively with other dentists and physicians to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery or dental medicine degree from an accredited school.
  • Completed residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Board eligibility or board certification by the American Board of Oral & Maxillary Surgery.
Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. (Subject to change based on agency needs)
