Job Summary

The Family Support Provider is a vital role within Compass Health Network, responsible for developing and implementing support systems for families of children with serious emotional disorders. This position requires a unique blend of empathy, communication skills, and knowledge of behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Family Support and Coaching: Assist and coach families to increase their knowledge and awareness of their child's needs, promoting a collaborative approach to care.
  • Relationship Building: Foster helpful relationships between family members, child and family team members, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Resource Linkage: Connect families with support groups, community resources, and other relevant services to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Information Provision: Provide families with helpful materials, such as videos, books, articles, or internet addresses, to support their understanding and management of their child's condition.
  • Crisis Support: Offer emotional support during crisis periods, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for families to process their emotions.
  • Preparation and Participation: Assist families with preparations for meetings, participate in treatment team activities, and contribute to the development of individualized service plans.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Submit required documentation, including progress notes, in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required; relevant work experience or training in behavioral health or a related field preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Must be a family member with a child who has been or currently has a behavioral or emotional disorder; Missouri resident for at least two years required.
  • Training and Certification: Must complete and pass the FSP Relias training and DBH FSP training; valid driver's license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage required.
