We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team at Worthington Industries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and productivity of our press operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and interpret instructions, material requirements, prints, and work orders for the job.
  • Plan and execute working procedures to meet production goals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and machine set-up as needed.
  • Operate the press to perform necessary jobs on parts according to instructions and blueprint specifications.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections to ensure all dimensions are correct and within given tolerances.
  • Make fine adjustments to the machine to bring parts within tolerances.
  • Prepare finished material for shipment by labeling and staging it according to work orders and piece part numbers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead by example, coach, and train others.
  • Strong reading and documentation skills, including production records and log documentation.
  • Above-average knowledge of machine processes and steel defects.
  • Ability to write accurate reject reports.
  • Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read blueprints and comprehend instructions and short correspondence.
  • Ability to perform all required quality checks and surface inspections of material.
  • Physical ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include the ability to see small details, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Forklift and crane training provided.
  • Required OSHA safety training.
  • May require First Responder Training (1st Aid and CPR).
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
