Job Title: Trust and Estates Paralegal

Briefly, a global law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Trust and Estates Paralegal to join our team. As a key member of our support organization, you will play a crucial role in the administration of trusts and estates, ensuring seamless execution of our clients' estate plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file probate court documents, including Petitions to Administer Estate and Guardian ad litem petitions.
  • Assist attorneys with trust administration, including marshalling, organizing, and analyzing asset information, valuation of assets, and preparation of inventories and asset allocation agreements.
  • Draft complete estate plans for attorney review and assist with the preparation of federal estate tax returns and related filings.
  • Set up, maintain, and ensure that files are kept current, including classifying, arranging files, filing, and storing information.
  • Monitor, prioritize, organize, and facilitate daily workflow to meet project deadlines, including administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and processing expense reimbursements.
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of state and local probate court rules.
  • Basic to intermediate skills with West Law Form, Builder, Data Tree, Bill4Time, One Legal, and iManage.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of software systems, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat DC, and Power Point.
  • Notary public or willingness to become one.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent proofreading skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate required.
  • 5-10 years or more experience in trust and estate administration.
