Physician, Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, a member of Dartmouth Health, is seeking a skilled OB/GYN physician to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical and administrative services to ensure timely care of patients.
- Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
- Review patient records and medical history to determine appropriate diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Determine and order screening and diagnostic tests and studies.
- Obtain informed consent for treatment, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures and studies.
- Interpret and evaluate test and study results.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations.
- Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary.
- Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable.
- Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
- Encourage behavioral change and assist with self-management skills to improve overall health.
- Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide patient and family-centered care.
- Ensure patient privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent.
- Supervise APPs as directed.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME).
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications- Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO).
- Postgraduate training in residency program.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
- Vermont Medical License.
- Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years).
- Active hospital staff membership.
