Job Overview

Piedmont Urgent Care by Wellstreet is seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients, this role plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and communicate payment policies and billing/collection processes to patients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Determine and collect each patient's financial responsibility, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Support the practice manager and other staff as needed, providing overall support for physicians and office operations.
  • Obtain and document patient history, understanding and enforcing standard healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and maintain patient and business documents, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform office procedures, including general administrative duties, and document Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) for medical interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • May be required to travel to nearby Piedmont Urgent Care locations to support staff.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer at least one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room setting.
  • Urgent care experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work 8am to 8pm, 3 days/week, rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination, with certification and experience as a medical assistant a plus.
