Job Title: Housekeeping Inspector

Richmond Marriott Short Pump is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Housekeeping Inspector to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and quality in our guestrooms and public areas. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect guestrooms and public areas to ensure they meet our high standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Communicate with Housekeeping staff to address any issues or concerns.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms and public areas to ensure they meet our standards.
  • Identify and report any maintenance or repair issues to the maintenance team.
  • Assist with training and development of Housekeeping staff.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Verify room status on A.M. report and report discrepant rooms.
  • Coordinate breaks for assigned staff and prepare and distribute assignment sheets.
  • Assign designated guest room keys to assigned staff and maintain accurate records.
  • Inspect supply levels of floor closets and assign designated personnel to rectify any deficiencies.
  • Check Room Attendant's carts for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness, and mechanical problems.
  • Inspect rooms cleaned by assigned Room Attendants and direct any deficiencies to be corrected.
  • Conduct training of staff as assigned and complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or work equivalent.
  • Computer skills required, familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Room Attendant.
  • Prefer previous experience as Housekeeping Supervisor/Inspector.
  • Good understanding of the English language.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 25 pounds.
  • Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 125 pounds.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-hours in length.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
  • Must be able to reach above head and shoulder height to perform job duties.
Working Conditions:

The Housekeeping Inspector will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, with frequent interactions with guests, management, and co-workers. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be required to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
